Single storey rear extension in Fishponds, Bristol Bristol
This single-storey rear extension in Fishponds, North-East Bristol, was designed for a family seeking a brighter, more spacious home better suited to modern family life. The project transformed a semi-detached house with a narrow galley kitchen and separate dining room into an open, welcoming space filled with natural light.
The 4.5-metre-deep extension features a flat roof with a large lantern skylight, bringing plenty of daylight into the new kitchen and dining area.
Inside, the ground floor was reconfigured to create a generous open-plan layout, seamlessly connecting the kitchen, dining, and living spaces. The redesigned arrangement also incorporates a practical utility room and downstairs WC in the location of the former kitchen, improving both the functionality and flow of the home.
This project showcases my approach to residential extensions in Bristol, balancing practicality, light, and carefully considered design to deliver spaces that are comfortable, functional, and tailored to everyday family life.
