Single storey rear extension – Kingswood, Bristol
This single-storey rear extension in Kingswood, Bristol, transformed a detached home into a brighter, more comfortable space that feels connected and practical throughout the year. The project replaced a poorly insulated conservatory that was disconnected from the main living areas and uncomfortable in both winter and summer.
The new flat-roof extension creates a well-proportioned open-plan layout that brings the kitchen, dining, and sitting areas together at the heart of the home. A central kitchen island forms a social focal point, while large sliding doors open directly onto the garden, establishing a seamless connection between indoors and outdoors. Lantern skylights flood the space with natural light, transforming the once dark rear of the house into a bright and welcoming living area.
This project showcases my experience in designing house extensions in Bristol, creating homes that balance practicality, warmth, and light — places that feel inviting and work beautifully for everyday life.
