Single storey rear extension and garage design – Stoke Bishop, Bristol
This project transformed a semi-detached home in Stoke Bishop, Bristol, with a contemporary single-storey rear extension and a new garage to replace the existing outdated structures. The goal was to create a brighter, more spacious home with a layout that feels open, functional, and perfectly suited to everyday living.
The existing utility room and garage were demolished to make way for a generous open-plan kitchen, dining, and sitting area at the rear of the house. The new layout also includes a practical pantry and utility room where the former kitchen once stood, improving the home’s flow and usability.
The extension features a flat roof with lantern skylights that fill the interior with natural light, while wide bifold doors open directly onto the garden to create a strong connection between indoors and outdoors. The result is a light-filled, contemporary living space that feels both welcoming and efficient.
