Single Storey Extension In Stoke Bishop

Single storey rear extension and garage conversion – Stoke Bishop, Bristol

This single-storey rear extension and garage conversion in Stoke Bishop, Bristol, transformed a detached family home into a brighter, more functional space designed for comfortable, everyday living. The aim was to create a layout that feels modern, open, and connected, while remaining in harmony with the home’s original character.
The existing conservatory was removed and replaced with a flat-roof extension built in matching brickwork, creating a seamless connection between the old and new. Lantern skylights flood the interior with natural light, while wide bifold doors open onto the garden — forming a bright, welcoming kitchen, dining, and sitting area that now serves as the heart of the home.
At the front, one of the double garages was converted into a study, while part of the second garage became a spacious utility room with generous storage and workspace. Together, these changes have created a home that feels light, balanced, and beautifully suited to everyday life. This project highlights my experience in designing house extensions in Bristol, combining practicality, light, and thoughtful design to create homes that work effortlessly for modern living.
