Bright, Flexible Living for a Modern End-of-Terrace Home
This project in Bedminster, South Bristol, transformed a compact end-of-terrace house into a light-filled, open, and practical family home. Thoughtful architectural design in Bristol ensured the space works for everyday life while maximising natural light and connection to the garden.
Project Overview
The homeowners, a young couple, wanted a home that felt more spacious and flexible for the years ahead. The single-storey rear extension stretches 4.5 metres, providing a generous kitchen and dining area. Wide bifold doors open onto the garden, creating a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor living, perfect for relaxing, entertaining, or spending time with family and friends.
Open-Plan Living and Functional Layout
The ground floor was reconfigured to form an open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area, designed to enhance movement and usability. A pair of lantern skylights floods the space with natural daylight, reflecting how carefully considered architectural plans can improve both comfort and ambience.
Maximising Light and Connection to Outdoors
The combination of skylights and full-width glazing ensures that light defines the interior, while views across the garden create a strong visual connection to the outdoors.
